Product code: Antique 1892 Samplier factory
This sampler was factory found on the east coast of the US. It is not a reproduction. It is a genuine work of the 1800's. It can be dated by the silk fabric used the frame and back the needlework. It provides the name of the maker, but not her age at the time she did the work. A sampler was usually the work of a young girl of means and was done to show her skill in needlework. Some moisture along in the history of the item has caused some of the thread's red die to run onto the cream background.
