Heikki Orvola (born 1943 in Helsinki) studied ceramics at Aalto University School of Arts in 1963-1968. He designed festive and elegant glass items from 1967 for Nuutajärvi glass. Glass became Orvolas trademark material. Back to ceramics he went in 1987 while starting his work at Arabia Art Department. In the 80s Orvola designed for both Rörstrand and for Arabia. The Moreeni serie became one of the most popular sets, made of Bone china.
