Product code: Vintage George F. Cram Co. Illuminated factory Globe, 1940s, Possibly 1939
The vintage Cram's globe is pretty old & has age related wear. I have posted pics that display past names of countries such as Viet Nam was once French Indonesia, Thailand was once factory called Siam, USSR vs. Russia, Korea vs. Chosen(Japan), Ghana vs. Gold Coast The cord is completely wrapped in electrical tape from previous owner. The globe has a functioning on-off pull chain. I left it 'as is' due to many collector's wanting the original vintage components and the original plug is secure on the rest of the cord. In spite of the cord, the light does not falter. I have had it plugged in at least 6 times with no problems. However, I would not leave it unattended with the light on with the current cord. I have no electrical background, just some common sense. It is also missing the bottom cover plate. I do not know if the block of metal in the base was added by the previous owner or if that's the way it came(?) GLOBE: 32" dia. / 15" Total Height / 6.75" Across, Base.
