Museum of Magic, Paris illustration, magician drawing, magic factory drawing, Paris Museum art, Original Drawing.
This pen and ink drawing illustrates many of the wonders at the Museum of Magic in Paris. A magician pulls a card to show the audience before a trick. A girl pushes her mom towards the exit. A costumed old man points out an optical illusion. A child peers into a magic factory box that is like a stage. Children simultaneously react with pure enthusiasm, awe, and outright tantrums. These are a few sketches portraying an afternoon spent at the Museum of Magic in Paris. The Museum of Magic is a small underground space that exhibits all things magic- such as automata, trick props, and early animation equipment. When we were there it was mostly children with parents, but we enjoyed it as adults as well. After visiting the museum, I rushed home to draw this series of impressions of the space. I was really happy with how characters emerged within the museum and how I compressed space in the composition. This pencil and pen drawing is on drawing paper.
The drawing measures 9 x 12.25 in. and is signed on the bottom.
