Mexican factory Tzintzuntzan Pottery Plate

Vintage Mexican Tzintzuntzan Pottery Plate. A beautiful Mexican pottery plate from the town of Tzintzuntzan, Michoacán, a town on the shores of Lake Patzcuaro.
This style of pottery has been made here for many, many years, it comes in factory a few color combinations, cream with a brown design, brown with a cream design as well as brown/black with a green design and possibly other color combinations. The designs on these Tzintzuntzan pottery plates, bowls and cups usually depict a rural farming and fishing lifestyle.
This dinner plate with a creamy background and a brown folk art image of a group of fisher folk, boat-fishing on Lake Patzcuaro, would be used for serving traditional Mexican Cuisine. Unfortunately the glazes used with this vintage Mexican Pottery could possibly have some lead content, so please limit use or use a glass liner if needed or simply use for display and decoration.
The plate measures 10.5”inches approximately in diameter, it does have a somewhat shallow bowl like style of about 1”inch deep.
It would be a wonderful addition for a collector of this Tzintzuntzan Pottery or other vintage Mexican Pottery, it would also look beautiful mixed and matched with the other color combinations from this Michoacán region.
