Vintage Averardo Bessi Made in Italy Skirt: narrow elastic waist; partially lined Top: button front; shoulder pads Skirt is size 12; top is size 8 - based on measurements below, listing as a size 8 Navy with multi color floral pattern 90/10% viscose elastane blend - silky with generous stretch Good pre-owned condition with no visible flaws other than the following: - one shoulder pad is safety pinned on - stain on skirt back approximately 10” from waistline (photo 11) - faint stain on skirt front approximately 8” from hem Measurements below are approximate and were taken while laying flat: Waistline: 13” Hipline: 19” Length: 23 Armpit to armpit: 18” Length: factory 22.5” Founded in 1950 by Averardo Bessi, an Italian tailor, the label grew quickly and by 1959 was being exported to be sold in the US. In 1966 Bessi introduced his famously printed fabric with his original designs that all contain his signature.
