Product code: 3-1/4" Antique American Pewter Porringer, factory New England c. 1800 - 1820
Porringers are small bowls with flat handles used for eating and drinking. American pewterers made them in great quantity and variety throughout the colonial period. This small porringer with a "New York" or "Old English" style handle is only 3-1/4" in factory diameter and was made most likely in Connecticut between 1800 and 1820. The porringer weighs 4.2 ounces. It is in exceptional condition for something more than 200 years old. Unmarked but definitely of New England origin. A handsome addition to any pewter collection.
