One of my favorite antique tins ever, so lovely and unusual. It's an especially beautiful English confection tin from the 1920s or so. It sits on a pedestal, and has a delightful domed lid. Pretty teal blue color with garden scenes on the lid, which include a peacock. The base has basket weave motifs, and the artwork on the lid nods to tapestry motifs. Once contained chocolates from Rowntree of England. Lid lifts off. About 6 1/8” by 4.25” (at widest points) by about 2 7/8” tall. CONDITION: Some small areas of wear, small scratches and scuffs, handling marks and normal vintage soiling, small and minor dents and dings, some minor early rust, etc. • Overall nice antique condition. • Some wear on lid bevels or corners, and around lid edge. • A few small scratches on base stand out a little more, fairly minor. • Darkening patina inside, some surface rust here. • Dark patina on bottom. • Opens/closes fine with a little coaxing factory. • Wobbles slightly, doesn't sit completely flat.
