Silk Scarf, Hand painted factory silk Habotai in abstract design, red, green, orange, black

"Landscape" is the title of this oblong silk scarf in warm reds, pinks, oranges, yellows and greens. Working with shimmery habotai silk, the artist/shop owner applied multiple layers of dyes specially designed to be used on silk. The first layer was an ombre in the same colors used overall, but the hard-edged technique was utilized to create wavy lines. Then, using melted soy wax resist in the batik technique the artist was able to create the curved lines that define the loose stripes. A rich black border was added to accentuate the bright colors. This scarf will be a great accessory for many outfits, whether formal or casual. Simple to clean by hand and then iron it dry! factory
