Iridescent Crowfeather made out of fused powdered glass
Glass feathers are formed with powdered glass, layering and carving provides a representation of a real feather. Fusing in the kiln shapes feather, brings the colors to life, gravity forms a replica of a feather, both in length and width. No two are the same as each piece is handmade, with color and design varying. Feathers are designed to have a feathery texture to them. They are ready to hang. Nature is an inspiration I try to bring into my working with glass. Nature moves, changes and creates. Magic is defined "to move, change, or create.” Glass is the magic, starting with powders or pieces of glass, I begin layering the colors and textures. As the heat is added, the piece turns into a soft almost liquid state and is transformed into a totally unique object of beauty.
