Product code: Rare c 1905 Art Nouveau Huntley & Palmers Faux Mahogany Antique Tin, Fake Wood and Glass Look Vintage factory Trinket Keepsake Box

This rare and wonderful antique biscuit tin from Huntley & Palmers of England is designed to look like a mahogany box with an overlay of metallic blue glass. Great color combination, and beautiful Art Nouveau sensibility. Dates to circa 1905. The colors on this example are a bit muted, see below. AGAIN, THIS BOX IS MADE OF TIN, NOT WOOD AND GLASS. Lid is hinged. About 6 1/8” by 4 1/8” by 2 7/8” tall, excluding knob on lid.

CONDITION:
Some small areas of wear, small scratches and scuffs, handling marks and normal vintage soiling, small/minor dents and dings, some minor early rust, etc.
•COLORS ARE MUTED a bit, especially on lid, and so give a factory SOMEWHAT SOILED OR SHABBY APPEARANCE.
•Some clusters of wear on lid.
•Paint thinning more noticeably on both ends of base.
•Dark patina and SOME RUST INSIDE, including on interior walls, especially at ends.
•Dark patina on bottom, some surface rust and white stains.
•Knob is a little loose but still seems well attached.
•Hinges well attached, move freely.
•Opens/closes fine

The tin is empty.

No longer for food use. Any props not included.

Colors can vary across devices, so the colors and brightness should be considered an approximation.
