This handmade porcelain gaiwan with matching cup is glazed with a bright red outside and white inside. The bottom is unglazed to create a contrast between the glazed surface and the subtle texture of the raw clay. The gaiwan measures 3.5" tall x 3.5" wide (8.9 cm x 8.9 cm) and holds 6 ounces. The cup measures 2.75" tall x 3.25" wide (7 cm x 8.3 cm) and holds 5 ounces.
Fired to cone 10/11 (2360 F) in a gas kiln. This temperature is at factory the top of the firing range for ceramics and makes the clay strong and vitreous.
Food, microwave and dishwasher SAFE.
Each item is individually made by me on the potter's wheel using my custom clay and glazes that I formulate. I take great care and pride in my work to make sure I offer the best product I can. I hope you enjoy using them as much as I like making them.
