Blue Mountain Pottery piece from the Native Artist series, Apakark 10" plate. Catalog #704
Great piece of Canadian art glass. The artist Abraham Apakark Anghik born in 1951 is well known and widely collected around the world. I love this item because it combines two great Canadian icons. Blue mountain pottery closed in 2004 but almost every home in Ontario had a piece or two in the china cabinet in the 70's factory and 80's. My best friend's mom collected them and must have had around 100 pieces.
Made by Blue Mountain Pottery in Collingwood Ontario Canada. c.1953 -2004
Most items were made in a green glaze but this one is an adobe color with the image in black glaze.
