Elegance for your meds or saccharin! Perhaps storage for special gems or crystals? Back in the day, the sugar substitute of choice was Saccharine in pill form. This would have been a very refined way of dropping the tablets into your beverage! Perfect for the bedside when your doctor says you need a pill each day. Why not make it a pleasant experience! All three pieces weigh 35 Grams of sterling silver. The container stands 1” tall from the table to the rim. When the lid is in place it measures approximately 1 3/4" from the table to the top of the knob handle. Diameter at the rim is 1 5/16” x 1 1/4" in diameter at the flared foot. The tongs are 1 7/8” long x 1/4" at the widest portion. Marked on the bottom of the container, STERLING with a maker's mark that was poorly struck. Also marked on the inside of the tongs, STERLING as well as the maker's mark which I cannot make out because it is so small.

Overall condition of all pieces is Excellent. There are no dings or dents and only light fine surface scratches from normal use. The tongs are tight and still very springy.
