ABOUT THE ARTIST: Sumy artist Pavel Mikhailovich Kovtun Born on August 8, 1937, in the village of Sidorovka, Kursk region. Graduated from the Kharkov Art School (1958). Teachers in the specialty: M. Slipchenko, I. Stakhanov, P. Shigimaga. Painter. The main industry is easel painting. Author of portraits, landscapes, still lifes. The artist's work is characterized by a tendency towards a "strict" style, exquisite composition, psychologism, emotionality, symbolism, generalizations of images, and intense colors. The main theme is the images of children in difficult conditions of war, revolutions and hunger. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1994). Participated in exhibitions: regional, republican and foreign (since 1961). Lived and worked in the city of Sumy.
