From the 1940s comes this cute, barrel chested, carved wood bear to charm your heart – it is in amazing shape! The paint is all intact from the stripes of his pants, white dots on his red jacket; blue head band & shoes; pink inside the ears, nose, paws and tail! At first, I thought it was a circus bear, then I began to wonder if it was a bellhop, or elevator operator… all those occupations are things of the past! Or, can't you just see him leading a band and waving to the on-lookers?!
This is a sizable (but light weight) piece at 4” x 2 ¼”; the pin clasp is embedding in the wood at both ends, factory works correctly and the pin shank is straight (again pointing to the lack of wear!) Overall, it is in excellent vintage condition that will please the most discerning collector!
What a cute gift for someone with the last name of Bear?! Or, someone who just wants something light-hearted and different.
