Art Glass Blessings are works of art designed by Nancy Gong that have the power to remind us and those we gift to, the special blessings we hold and value. The glass artwork is hand cast and sand-carved glass.

The factory spirit and energy of living things has always intrigued me and continues to be at the very core
of my art. As a first generation American born Chinese, my primary design influences are drawn
from my love of nature and my Asian background. Art Glass Blessing's celebrate the Chinese culture. The calligraphic design, a Chinese way of thinking, comes from the tradition of hanging hollow brass Chinese characters in a home or business to remind people of blessings in life. Inspired by the temperament of my Asian background, I constantly strive to capture grace, movement and dimension of life in a simple, yet powerful way. Facets of nature are the soul of my art.

The calligraphy design is hand drawn, hand transferred and hand cut for crisp clean sand carving. It's a stone carving technique that is and gives the feeling of permanence. The glass is hand cast per my specifications by Beacon Glassworks or Kokomo Opalescent Glass. Variations in the shape, visual and physical surface may vary due to the nature of making hand cast glass.

Each Art Glass Blessing comes with a 2-3/4"w X 2-1/2" h folded descriptive tag that includes information on what the calligraphy translates to, about how the artwork was made, care instructions and about the artist. The glass artwork and the descriptive tag are signed by the artist.

The Art Glass Blessings are freestanding with little rubber feet on the bottom for display on a flat level surface like a desk top, shelf or windowsill.
Each are approx 5" diameter X 3/4" thick.
