This unique green bottle has been made within the use of a potter's wheel.
I formed this from stoneware clay.
The glaze on the outside is crystalline, and on the inside is white.

It has been fired in an electric kiln at a high temperature of about 2340 F.
Each of my crystalline pieces is original and unique, it is impossible to repeat the design.
If you are the owner of this item, you should know no one in the world has an identical item.
When the crystals cool down they obtain their final appearance, become permanent and will not change.
The glaze must contain the proper chemical composition. Zinc oxide and silica are the formers, they form together zinc silicate. After reaching top temperature as quickly as possible, the kiln is cooled until the temperature where the crystals grow is reached. This is usually about 2100 F-1900 F. Crystals take a long time to grow, about 3-5 hours. The shape of the crystals differ in various temperatures. It also changes when we modify the amount of each component of the glaze.
The process of creating crystalline glaze is difficult as it has a tendency to run off the pot. The piece must be placed on its own pedestal in order to protect the kiln shelves. After firing , the pieces must be detached and polished.
The whole process is troublesome, but if everything goes right the effect is stunning.
