Illinois Blue and Violet Zoned Cubic Fluorite with Sphalerite, from factory Cave-In-Rock, Illinois, USA

factory A combination specimen with terrific aesthetic appeal! Colors include light lavender, violet, and even some blue throughout the fluorite cubes, with edge zoning visible through highly translucent crystals. Moderate luster and very lightly textured crystal faces with some crystals having 'L'-shaped faces where mirror-shiny sphalerite crystals have grown. Back of specimen is covered in a druse of very tiny fluorite crystals of light-lavender to deep violet hues.

Comes from the famous, now-closed fluorite collecting sites at Cave-In-Rock, Illinois.
