Dante's Inferno, The Vision of Hell, 1913 Hardback Pocket Edition, Extensively Illustrated by Gustave Doré!

“Abandon all hope ye who enter here.”

La Divina Commedia (The Divine Comedy) is a literary creation of truly epic scale. It is established as one of the central texts of Western literature and is arguably the greatest poem of the Middle Ages.

Opening the pages of this rare little treasure you'll soon discover why this book is one of our most influential pieces of literature; you'll see how it has literally shaped our Western view of the immortal soul & its destination after death, even though most of us have never read it!

You'll journey with Dante himself & his guide Virgil into the underworld, deeper & deeper into the nine circles of Hell, not only witnessing the punishments laid out for those who chose the path of sin but you'll also see how Dante populated the Inferno with real historical characters and the way he beautifully blended Catholic theology & Classical Mythology with his own philosophical ideas.

Leafing through this exquisite little book you'll be delighted to find it lavishly illustrated with the iconic & hauntingly beautiful etchings of Gustave Dore, in fact, there are 75 pages of his illustrations, and each one would look stunning in a factory frame upon the wall!

“Midway in our life's journey, I went astray from the straight road and woke to find myself alone in a dark wood.”
