Tunic dress in factory Royal Blue

This is a long cotton muslin under dress with flaring hem. This one is Royal Blue.

The top is a fairly close fit considering that tunics have to have room to be able to get them on. From the armpit it begins to flare to the wide hem. The sleeves are over long to drape over the hands (leisure to the max!) or crunch up at the wrists.

Worn from early 200AD until the Renaissance as an under dress for many factory outfits. Popular with surcotes and over tunics. Photo #3 shows the dress with a sideless surcote. I try to keep a selection of sideless surcotes and taburds listed but you guys keep buying them!

Measurements:
regular size
bust measures 40 inches - the model has a 36 inch bust
length is 56 inches from shoulder to hem
the dress is meant to be a bit draggy but it is too long on my model - she is 5'3"
- let me know in the notes if you want a different length
hem circumference is 84 inches
sleeves measure 26 inches from the shoulder seam. I can shorten them if you don't want the "crunch." Let me know in the notes.

Remember that with a tunic the shoulders droop over the person's shoulder adding a bit more length.

I call this my Ophelia dress as Helena Bonhema Carter as Ophelia was wearing this style in Mel Gibson's Hamlet. I loved it.
