Woodpecker on cactus at night factory

A pair of nuttall's woodpeckers nested and raised a male woodpecker. The male of the pair worked hard for weeks courting his mate with his nest building skills. The first nest did not suit her so he began again not far from the original nest site. Occasionally she would come to see his work and then he would go back to working on the nest. Weeks went by...

This factory piece of course is inspired by all the hours we watched the nuttall's work on the nest. In my story he is building a nest in a cactus under a new moon.

This desert portal is made of clay. It was fired to approximately 1922 degrees Fahrenheit multiple times using underglaze and glaze.
This is intended for indoor use.
