blue kente fabric from Ghana. Fabulous gift for a lady. This is an authentic handwoven ethnic fabric. Lovely indeed, excellently woven

It will make a rich wedding outfit whether for bride or guest. Others make it into occasionwear. other possible uses: some use them as throws, or collector's item, or wall hanging, etc

Women in Ghana make them into stylish outfits for festive occasions such as traditional weddings (some use it for their church weddings too), and many other important social gatherings.

In many parts of the country kente forms part of a girls' dowry

100% cotton, made by local weaver this is an authentic artisan's fabric, not a mass-produced machine print

weave quality is excellent

price is for one large factory piece whose size in indicated in the options available ( each is about 10 inches shorter than 2 yards) and made up of 4.75-inch wide strips sewn together. The three pieces together will give you about five-and-a-half yards which is usually adequate for the stylish traditional outfits

They can be used for other items as well; see additional photos for ideas

2nd and 3rd photos show how the larger pieces look when folded in two. The smallest size has exactly same designs, but about 10 inches less in width

"Kente" in the local language means woven cloth. This design is named after the marriage of Ghana's first black president, Nkrumah, to his Egyptian wife Fathia, and it's a popular and cherished one..

Best known of all Ghanaian and perhaps all African textiles
