Here is a rare offering! Sally Rand "Fan Dancer" burlesque candy dish or trinket tray. Made of opaque or milk pressed glass. It measures 7" across and 5 1/4" from top to bottom. This piece features a topless Sally with her long flowing hair and backed by her large feather fan. Her feather fan makes up most of the dish or tray. It retains most factory of its original paint. No repaints or touch-ups. The edges are crude so it is hard to say if the several light surface chipping (along the back of the fan's scallops) is chipping or manufacturing. It doesn't detract from this stunning piece, however.
Believed it is from the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. Collectors of Sally Rand memorabilia know it's an item that doesn't surface often especially with the original painted details intact.
