I'm always collecting leaves, pine cones, pebbles factory and, of course, acorns! So it seemed only inevitable that I would make a cast from an acorn cap. The Fine Silver clay has picked up all the little details from the cap and I have added a 'stem' to hang it from. Then I was faced with a problem, even though the acorn had not been very big it was considerably bigger than any natural pearls I had, but I had some 'South Sea Shell' pearls left over from a customers remake and a steel grey one was a perfect fit. These pearls are Man-made from crushed Mother of Pearl and binding solutions and are nearly always much larger than natural pearls. The acorn is approx. 2 cms long and 1.5 cms at its widest. It hangs from a Sterling Silver ball chain which is 46 cms (18 inch) long. All my items are handcrafted in my workshop in a Cotswold village.
