Decorative antique Victorian gold filled brooch. The oval brooch with scalloped rim with beading and sprays of fine beading, the center with black enamel and ivy in gilt.
With a simple pin fastening, and a small ring for attaching a safety chain.
Germany 1880s.

The enamelled portion 2cm x 1.5cm. In inches 6/8" x 1/2".
The brooch 4cm x 3cm. In inches 1 5/8" x 1 1/8".

In the language of flowers ivy representing marriage, fidelity and friendship. A nice sentimental brooch in good antique condition, the gold surface still fresh and bright, Some light denting to the wide rim. Of course black enamel can represent mourning.
