This is a beautiful antique French curtain panel dating to around 1820 - it could have been used as a bed curtain on a chateau bed! There is still linen tape along the gathered top! The fabric is a lovely heavyweight cretonne cotton, beautifully printed in a floral pattern on a taupe, or greige, ground. The floral print is in shades of raspberry pink and soft pinks and gold with a bit factory of deep aubergine in the detail and a bit of white... just beautiful! There is some gorgeous matching bobble trim on this piece, too - attached with lovely hand stitching! This textile would look wonderful in a window or could be made into a valance or used for many small projects - it would make lovely pillows, with the trim around the edge! A perfect addition to any romantic or feminine period interior!

MEASUREMENTS: This pretty curtain measures approximately 13 inches at the gathered top, 31 inches across the bottom and 62 inches long
CONDITION: This lovely piece has been left in as found, not freshly laundered condition for collectors, but can be hand washed and hung to dry. The linen tape along the top is coming loose at the ends and there are a few tiny rust marks on the tape from where it hung with iron nails in the past. The top is hemmed, but the bottom is raw/unhemmed. The selvage is intact along one side; the bobble trim is attached along the other. The bobble trim is missing a few of the bobbles (see photos and use the zoom feature to see more detail). Otherwise, this curtain is in lovely condition for this type of antique textile!
