Charles Hugh Stockley was an officer in the British army and a renowned big game hunter and photographer. He wrote profusely on the subject, writing many books detailing his hunts, particularly across India.
This particular work details Stockley's time hunting markhor, gooral, tahr, sambur, tsine, ibex, stag, bear, burhel and factory other game in northern India, with a chapter on hunting kudu in Somaliland in Africa.
Condition Report: In the publisher's green cloth binding. Externally smart with slight shelf wear to the extremities and the head and tail of the spine. Fading to the extremities of the boards and to the spine. Areas of damp staining to the rear board. Contemporary ink signature to front paste down. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting heavier to the first and last few pages and marginal age toning. Overall: Very Good
