This is a unique toy for the horse or animal loving child. It is a great learning tool as well allowing the child to make up stories and play out situations with the toy horse. There is room in the stable for another horse or toy animal to scale..cow, sheep, dog, cat.. the list goes on.

Because this is a stable I chose to have a horse in it. The toy of choice was a Morgan Horse from the LORI toy collection. The set also has a grooming brush, 3 apples, a spray bottle, the saddle and a saddle pad. So a little animal husbandry can be learned also. Alas, the rider, a little girl named LORI is not with this set. She may be found at Target along with her friends.

Now a little about the stable. It is a laborious project requiring lots of saw work cutting the logs to size from 50 year old cedar planks. Then the logs have to be cut to the proper factory length, set into the proper pattern for the 4 walls and glued together. Phew!! Tired just thinking about it. All the wood including the base is rustic aged cedar. The removable roof is plywood and loosely fitted to make it easier for the child to play with. I cut the door out and hinged it so the horse can be secure for the night and opened to play with by day.

The stable measures 17” long x 11” wide x 11” tall and weighs 6#.

I built only one of these toy stables and any more will be as a special order. It is unique, one of a kind and I hope will find a home with a very special child for their special day.
