Product code: Solitary Bee Nest House for factory Mason Bees

Solitary Mason bee nest house in a traditional design. Constructed of durable Cedar, chosen for its weather resistant and insulation properties. Features replaceable corrugated nest tubes to provide a clean nesting site each season.
Easily aid in the conservation of solitary bees, one of the most highly effective pollinators of flowers, vegetables and fruit crops (they can pollinate 10x more than honey bees!). The Welliver Mason Bee house provides an ideal bee-keeping solution for the busy homeowner or part-time gardener. The house is equipped with paper tubes where the female bees can lay eggs from March to August. The larvae will develop over the winter months in the tubes and will emerge as adult bees the following spring. Tubes should be replaced after use or every 1-2 seasons. Mason and Leafcutter bees are non-aggressive and cannot excavate their own cavities, so they are not a threat to property. They typically nest in pre-made cavities such as woodpecker holes, insect holes and hollow stems, making the bee nest house an ideal alternative. Durably constructed of 3/4" Cedar with rust-resistant screws, bee house will provide a lasting habitat with minimal upkeep. Welliver replacement tubes sized specifically for Mason or Leafcutter bees can be mixed throughout all Welliver factory bee houses.

SELECTING A SITE: Place on the ground near the garden, mounted to the side of a building or post, or placed on/near a wood pile. Do not place the house near a bird feeding station. The tube openings should face away from prominent winds.
