Product code: IBM Thinkpad A31, Pentium 4, 2 GHZ, 60 GB HDD, factory DVD drive; Windows XP
Working IBM ThinkPad A31 with original power supply, early 2000s vintage. Pentium 4-M 2.0 GHZ, 512 GB RAM, 60 GB HDD, DVD drive. Log on with "administrator", password = "password". Boots to non-bootleg license of Windows XP SP3. Joystick works, screen has no flaws. Keyboard works completely. No software other than utilities and the free stuff from Microsoft, such as Internet Explorer. Includes wired network connection, but needs drivers installed to work. No native wireless hardware; you would need to add a PMCIA card or similar to enable that. Ports on the back include 2 USB (one working), serial, parallel, VGA, old school mouse, phone, and network. Using a USB port, I am able to transfer files to and from the laptop. I am also able to plug a new wireless mouse receiver into the USB and have the system automatically installed the drivers. Battery factory will not hold a charge for more than a few minutes, and one USB port does not work.
