I adore the view of the Rio Grand Gorge from the south end of Taos Valley. It's like the Greek story of the maiden who gets abducted to the underworld in a huge chariot...a huge crack in the earth opens up. It is powerful and dramatic. Here you have an overvview early in the morning after fresh snow. This spot looks out over the Taos Volcanic Plateau. The gorge is a chasm. Northern New Mexico drama at its best!
