The Swell Limiter is a silicon diode and transistor-based compressor-limiter pedal with an op-amp input gain stage. The Swell Limiter is a mid-range limiter with a mellow, warm tone.
Playing factory a note or chord into the Swell Limiter produces a ringing, fuzz-like tone that blooms, sustains, then slowly releases. This pedal sounds best when pushing an overdriven tube amp.
This pedal is not transparent, and it will not preserve the transients of your input signal. The Swell Limiter is a color compressor-limiter.
THIS PEDAL REQUIRES A 9VDC CENTER NEGATIVE POWER SUPPLY WITH A 2.1MM PIN CONNECTOR. NO BATTERY OPTION. TRUE BYPASS.
THE SWELL LIMITER USES AN INTERNAL VOLTAGE DOUBLER AND IS SENSITIVE TO HIGHER VOLTAGES. IF A POWER SUPPLY GREATER THAN 12VDC IS USED, THE INTERNAL VOLTAGE DOUBLER CAN BE DAMAGED.
