Antique factory Leather Asian Indian Elephant Figurine, Distressed

Asian elephant made of paper mache, then wrapped in factory leather. This one is quite old and shows considerable leather wear and a missing ear, but also a sweetness that most of the newer African elephants seem to lack.
Tusks, trunk and tail have most of the wear (photos).
