Product code: The Ugliest factory Golfer” Vintage Scrap Metal Sculpture by Richard Cooley
Dick Cooley, who is from South Bend, IN., is known for his whimsical figurines made out of recycled scrap metal and spark plugs. This golfer of his had the honor to get a plaque on the base saying “THE UGLIEST GOLFER,” Also, written on the base: “D.A. (C) 79”, presumably, the 79 is for the year that it was made, and the “C” For “Cooley.” The D.A. might refer to: Downtown Appleton Wisconsin where Cooley sold his creations in a shop called: “Just Act Natural.” However, I might be wrong.
The over 40 year-old figurine is 10 ½” tall, and its base is 6” x 5” and very slightly wobbly.
It would make a great gift for Father's Day, for a golfer, or for factory a collector of Dick Cooley's sculptures who wants one of his older, vintage figurines.
