This special medicine Buddha representation was made in an elaborate work of brass in the sand casting process and then decorated decoratively.
The importance of the Medicine Buddha
The Medicine Buddha is the Buddha of healing, which plays a major role and is revered especially in Japanese and Tibetan Buddhism as well as in Tibetan healing medicine. The Medicine Buddha stands for physical and mental health.
Here he is credited with names such as the "King of healers" and the "supreme healer".
According to the teachings of the Mayaran, he cures all diseases, especially those of the three spiritual poisons, of which the strongest mental poison is ignorance (Dukha).
According to Buddhist teachings, mental poisons cause a dissatisfied mind and with it the physical and mental diseases.
The Bhaisajyaguru helps to cure these diseases. Before his enlightenment, the historical Buddha Siddhartha Gautama promised to free all disabled, malformed and sick people from their health problems as part of twelve vows. The vow is the main component of the teachings.
The definition of the three mental venoms
1.Greed (Lobha)
The first poison of the mind is greed. Greed can also be understood as addiction or desire.
It is the desire for possession and power. Desire and thirst are strongly related to greed.
to Werden. This spiritual poison can be cleaned up through generosity, charity and donations.
2.Hatred (Dosa)
The second poison of the mind is hatred. Hatred is nothing more than anger and aggression.
Goodness and love have a healing effect here.
3.Veneering (Moha)
The third poison of the mind is delusion. It stands for ignorance or non-knowledge.
Ignorance is a mental poison that is considered a cause of suffering.
From this comes greed and hatred as other mental poisons.
Only by purifying ignorance
or non-knowledge, the purification of the mind and thus wisdom takes place. Wisdom is therefore the basis
for the purification of all three spiritual poisons and thus that of a purified person.
The presentation of the Medicine Buddha
The medicine Buddha is depicted in picturesque representation mostly with blue grain color.
On his right arm there is a branch of the mystical Myrobalan plant with three grapes that stand for neutralization of the three mental venoms. In his left hand he holds factory a begging bowl with the healing or god nectar Amrita.
Both attributes stand for longevity and health. His sitting position is represented as a vajra posture or lotus posture, which is one of the main positions during meditation or yoga.

radiant like lapis lazuli, like a king,
the consummate, the worthy, the fully awakened,
praise be to healing, healing, the healer.
